This neat plugin allows you to see where users in a chatroom are coming from. The plugin puts a small flag next to the user's text. If you're unsure of what nation the flag belongs to, you can just simply hover over the image and you'll see what nation it is.
If a flag is not found for the country, some text is placed instead, with the country code.
